as they debut Remington’s Impression on America on July 4, 2026, as part of the America250 celebration. The project includes refreshed galleries, a new exhibition exploring Remington’s bronze sculptures and the lost-wax casting process, and a special exhibition featuring works by members of the Cowboy Artists of America. The exhibition creates a unique opportunity to view contemporary Western artwork alongside the legacy that helped inspire it. Rather than presenting Remington solely as a historical figure, the Museum's collaboration demonstrates how his influence continues to shape artists working today. As Museum Executive Director Maggie McKenna explained, “One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the opportunity to place Remington’s work in conversation with artists who are carrying that tradition forward.”
For Dustin Payne, inclusion in the exhibition represents an opportunity to exhibit within an institution dedicated to one of the most influential artists in American Western art. It also highlights the continuing relevance of the subjects, stories, and traditions that have inspired generations of artists. Exhibition through October 2026.
