A member of the Cowboy Artists of American, sculptor Dustin Payne is featured in the Artist Focus section of Western Art Collector's November 2025 issue. Known for his detailed bronze sculpture portraying the history and cultures of the American West, this sculptor continues to be celebrated for his passion and dedication to preserving what is definitely worth keeping from the legends and actions of generations of spirited Westerners. Born into a rodeo and ranching family, Dustin grew up as a third-generation sculptor in his family. Inspired by studying Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, he also was fascinated by the books and drawing of Will James. Most admired by Dustin Payne is the "strength and character of the old cowboys and ranchers" and that continues to inspire this award-winning artist to this day.
One of Western art’s most passionate storytellers, Dustin Payne has created the story of the showdown at the infamous OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona from the point of view of the outlaws. The bronze figurative cowboys from that fateful day are shown at the pivotal moment as they are filled with raw emotion, tensions, and on alert. Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona is proud to represent this outstanding sculptor of the American West.
