Women of the West in the headlines at Verde News/KudosAZ

Mountain Trails Gallery located in Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village in Sedona is proud to present paintings, sculpture, and mixed media fine art with a spotlight on women taking the lead as they celebrate Women of the West at their 1st Friday reception on June 7, 4-7 p.m. Many of the gallery’s award-winning artists have been drawing, painting, or making forms out of clay since early in their childhood, while others picked up the tools of their trade later in life, sometimes out of necessity, and often as an inexplicable drive to express what these artists needed to say. The creative impulse seems to be human and undeniable, and women artists have been historic participants in creative expression with a world-wide growing prominence in the profession. Women of the West brings together a group of remarkable women while the event also introduces four new painters, Sherry Cobb-Kelleher, Lori Twiggs, Sharon Markwardt, and Ans Carnes, who add depth of experience, technique, and even more life to the celebration.
